For over 100 years the Hyslops lived at Farthingbank near Thornhill, Dumfries. During the Covenanter's era they were persecuted off the land, and the Hyslop Family acquired the land on which the Family Farm, High Cairn is known today. Many Births, Deaths and Marriages have taken Place at High Cairn, and its neighbouring Farm of Upper Cairn.
